By now, you have probably heard that WMATA has accepted the bid from a developer that is not planning to put a dog park of any size on the property. That means we may have to find a new spot for our park. To get a new spot, we have to let our District representatives know how important finding a new place for our park is to us.

Here are three things you can do right now to make a difference:

  1. Tell Your ANC-1A Representative and Ward 1 Council Member

that You Want A dog Park in the AREA

Send an email to your ANC-1A representative and Ward 1 Councilmember, Brianne Nadeau (bnadeau@dccouncil.us), to tell them that you need a dog park in the area. You can find your ANC-1A representative on the interactive map below. You can find their emails below as well.

Tell them: “The dog park has been an important part of our community for the last decade. Now that WMATA is selling the park to a developer we need to find another place where we can meet up with our neighbors and our dogs can run off-leash. Please make it a priority to find a new place for our dog park.”

Join the nearly 1,600 other DC residents by signing the petition in support of the dog park.

Then share the petition with your friends and neighbors.

Although the District already tried to buy the park from WMATA, it can still help to show support.
