I am a District of Columbia resident and I want to save the Columbia Heights Dog Park at 11th and Park, NW.
The dog park is an important part of the Columbia Heights neighborhood. The park offers not just a place for the dogs to run and play, but a place for neighbors to meet, become friends, and forge a sense of community. Allowing WMATA to sell the park would be a huge loss to the neighborhood, which is already greatly lacking in green space.
Therefore, we urge the District to purchase the park from WMATA and work with the community to improve the space for the dogs and the neighborhood.
